What HomeInspectio badges and labels mean

HomeInspectio helps buyers compare inspectors, but we do not perform inspections. These definitions explain what listing badges mean, what they do not mean, and when buyers should verify details independently.

A badge adds context, not a guarantee.

Claimed, verified, featured, and sponsored labels describe what HomeInspectio knows about a listing. Buyers should still confirm current license status, insurance, pricing, availability, included services, and report timing before booking.

Claimed

A business owner or authorized representative has requested control of the listing and HomeInspectio has connected it to an owner account.

Verified Listing

HomeInspectio checked basic business details such as the business name, website domain, contact details, and owner access.

License Provided

A license number or licensing statement is listed by the business, an owner, or another public record. This is not the same as license verification.

License Verified

HomeInspectio checked the license against an official record where that record is available and reasonably matchable.

Insurance Provided

The inspector supplied insurance information or another public record references insurance. Buyers should still confirm current coverage directly.

Background Checked

Used only if HomeInspectio has a background-check process or provider for that inspector. It is not inferred from a business listing.

Featured

A paid or editorial placement. Featured status does not guarantee the inspector is the best fit for every buyer.

Sponsored

A clearly labeled paid listing. Sponsored listings are marked so buyers know they are paid.

Review rules

Reviews submitted on HomeInspectio are checked before publication.

  • Reviews submitted on HomeInspectio are checked before they appear.
  • HomeInspectio does not copy third-party review text into its own reviews.
  • Inspectors cannot edit ratings submitted by buyers.
  • Paid placement does not remove negative reviews.

Buyer verification checklist

Use this before requesting or accepting an inspection quote.

  • Confirm licensing, insurance, pricing, availability, and inspection scope directly with the inspector.
  • Ask for a sample report when report style or agent coordination matters.
  • Compare add-ons such as radon testing, sewer scope, mold, termite, condo access, and reinspection separately from the base price.
  • Use claim and verification badges as helpful context, not as a substitute for your own due diligence.
